I am also experiencing this exact issue! The dealership did a hard reset (twice) and the problem went away for two weeks. However the issue has come back and is very annoying.

I was able to capture the below pictures of the issue. Next time I experience I do plan on writing down the apps that are no longer working.

Anyone been able to identity a fix to this yet?

It's going to be difficult for me to make an appointment with a dealer. I know that some Uconnect models allow a hard reset via the interface. I have tried all the procedures I could find on YouTube (hold finger on upper right corner, press up and down heat simultaneously, hold phone and speak for 30s, etc.). None have worked.

Surely there's a hard reset option for the 2020 Uconnect 8.4" that doesn't require a dealer visit?
Just picked up my 2020 1 hour ago. Same issue. Dealer did hard reset and fixed it but next time I got in the car they were not working again. @JeepCares HELP!

Did anyone who did the hard reset have success?

Are your apps greyed out every time you start your vehicle?
Does it only happen after you start the vehicle the first time for the day? Or after the vehicle has been shut off for more than a specific amount of minutes/hours?
Does this only happen after issuing a remote start operation (key fob vs. Uconnect app)?
What apps are usually greyed out?

Hi. For me it has happened at the first turn on but sometimes they do function. On a long drive they worked all day then at hour 5 while driving on the highway got the message and apps grayed out.

So the car may start with them not working or with them working and then have them stop mid drive.

Iā€™m not sure what apps they are working today. Last night they were not. I believe the same ones posted above however.

as far as issuing remote commands my guardian connect seems spotty so far. Sometimes it willl fail to connect. Others it wonā€™t. I havenā€™t been able to get vehicle info but I have been able to lock the doors and send an address.

I've been intermittently getting a message that says "Some apps are currently unavailable" on my new 8.4" Uconnect. Now it seems to happen more often than not. When the message happens I can access multiple apps, including Off-Road Pages, Marketplace, etc.

A search here and Google has yielded nothing. Any help is much appreciated.
Same thing happening on some JT's. Mine does it also from time to time, but everything appears to be working just fine. Go figure!

I'm experiencing the exact same thing. Sometimes I get the message shortly after startup, sometimes it's after a period of time, sometimes it doesn't happen even on a long drive.

The issue is happening intermittently, sometimes with the first start and others on the second or third start. Other times I have no issues at all, for example no issues while driving to work this week except this morning.

The apps that I captured that were not working after getting the message are:

Normally these apps work without issue and are not grayed out when I start the vehicle, of course after the start cycle. However, after getting the message each of the apps are grayed out. The issue has occurred with both keyfob remote start and push button start when entering the vehicle.

I would be happy to provide any additional detail necessary, just let me know. I would be happy to share my contact details with your engineer as well. Thanks.

Talked to my dealer and he mentioned when pushed an update with the new marketplace a few weeks ago. Iā€™m guessing itā€™s a software issue.

If I was a betting man Iā€™d guess that itā€™ll be an ongoing issue until they push the next OTA update. Since I have no use for any of these apps Iā€™m trying not to let it out a damper on my day.

The U-Connect on the JK was acceptable for the time; but, all the automakers know that technology is a current driver of sales. When the JL came out, U-Connect wasn't even an afterthought. I tried certain apps. I tried mirroring. The navigation doesn't even know hotels that have been at the same location for more than 50 years, museums for 40 years. Really pathetic. At a trade show, I ran into some Jeep people and told them about some apps. Throw mud on the wall and see what sticks; well, 2 months later, Jeep has now introduced one of the apps I mentioned; so, something stuck. At the same 2nd show, I got a few more Jeep people thinking and when discussing the navigation, one of the Jeep engineers was shocked at how crappy the JL's U-Connect is compared his personal JK's. He started making notes. Lots of them. He liked what I was telling him. He even asked, "The JL has been out for two years. Why am I just finding out about this?" Long story short: Software for the U-Connect is being rewritten. I'm not "in the know"; but, to hear people are having problems right now, I'm not surprised. I've got a scheduled service coming up in January and hopefully, an update will be available. May take even longer. We'll see. Looking forward to what everyone else finds in the near future. My "pie in the sky" for apps & navigation? I'm asking for the Magellan TRX Trailhead APP to come pre-installed in the U-Connect and I even asked for the ability to upload my own GPX Files; but, good luck with that. We'll see.

Good info. Thankfully OTA update should simplify things. Iā€™m primarily using Apple CarPlay which works great. The gas prices, weather, and movie times also work well. The manual, market, etc that arenā€™t working consistently are things I will likely never use so as long as the rest works Iā€™m good.

that said still fix it FCA. LOL.

@JeepCares and anyone else. Along with this issue Iā€™m unable to use the vehicle info or remote on the uconnect app. I can locate my vehicle and send/go directions but the info and remote are a no go. Also the marketplace (when it does start) just keeps saying my connected services are not activated. SOS also does not function.

Verified all the info and everything is activated. Been on with assist 6 times and deleted my uconnect app and re installed twice. Still doesnā€™t work. Not sure if these issues are connected.

@JeepCares My vehicle has been in the shop for a week. They have tried several things. Also my SOS and Assist buttons do not work on my mirror. They have replaced the mirror but that didn't help. Any have trouble also with their mirror?

I have the irking suspicion once I take this in Iā€™m going to rack up lemon law days pretty fast. Lol.
