While doing an oil change and checking fluids, etc.; I noticed what looked to be a sediment filter next to the coolant reservoir.

Anyone have any idea what this would go to? I'm inclined to think it made its way into the engine bay somehow as I've not had anyone other than myself work on the Jeep in a long while.

That said, it is pretty dirty and there is a chance it has been sitting there for a long time without me noticing.

Open up your coolant cap and see if it fits in the neck. If not then check the wiper fluid, and brake fluid fills.

I would bet it fell out when someone last checked the brake fluid level.

This was the answer.

Mine doesn't have the yellow rubber ring, and I'm not sure why or how it got removed, but it must have been a while back.

Appreciate the help.
