My daughter has recently run into an issue on her '18 2-door JL Sport where the passenger side soft top window will not stay in the C channel. She'll slide the window in, put the rear post in place, and seat the side and bottom tabs in their grooves but after awhile the window pops out of the C channel.

Luckily, the rear post and the tabs have remained in place so she hasn't lost the window all together. Obviously, we're going to have the dealer take a look, but I was just wondering if anyone else has run into this problem.

Which channel? Bottom, or side? Standard or premium top?

I have found that installing the windows per the manual doesnā€™t work so well on my 2dr premium top. Instead, I:
  • Slide window on rail
  • Bend bottom c-channel thingy down and out of the way
  • Snap in pillar, making sure itā€™s really where it is supposed to be
  • Working from the pillar end, push the bottom tab into the channel
  • Working from bottom to top, push the side tab into the channel
  • Tuck/adjust Velcro
I believe the manual says to go in the other direction, but in my experience that results in the bottom channel not fully seating adjacent to the pillar.

It's the top C channel rail on the premium soft top. She's had the jeep for a year and this just started, so it's not user error.

I had this same problem. If you look at the c-channel on the window, the groove will likely be wider in some areas, hence why it pops out. I took it to my dealer. They took photos and sent them to the FCA, and the FCA then replaced the window panel on warranty.

Ohhh... C Channel is the top. Got it, now.

What are we calling the tab/slot attachment points (bottom and side)?

I figured it should be covered by warranty, but nice to hear that it actually was in your case.

I went with tab and groove.

I have exactly the same problem with driver side window on my 2 door 2018 JL... did you get a warranty replacement?

Yes, but it took a couple of weeks to get the window.
