Got my first Jeep coming next week, 2021 JLU, first thing I'd like to do is get a soft top, looking at frameless, but even the frameless seems to have a lot of what I'd definitely classify as Frame, so, does all the hardware on a "frameless" top need to be removed when you put the hardtop back on?

If so, Is there any soft top that doesn't need to be stripped down when installing the hard top, other than removing the canvas? And is reasonably weather tight?

TIA

That'd be a bikini top, one step up from a spider shade. Idk if anyone here is running one, not my bag personally

I run both hard and soft tops... you are talking 6 pieces here (4 window surrounds and 2 rear corner brackets for the rear window retaining bar) and maybe 10 minutes of mounting time, maybe 5 minutes to take them off.

Non-issue for me but to each his own.
