put the soft top on today.. gee whiz what a pain in the butt.
But we got it done. I’m not sure if I like it. I am impressed how quiet it is with it on.
The soft top rails just look weird when the top is thrown back. And I don’t like that the windows have to be undone to throw it back. I suppose you get used to it and it should only take a minute to do. I’m going to give it a few weeks and see if I like it. If not then it will go up for sale.
The naked look is much better. But what do you do if it rains? Get one of those throw on covers?
I wish I was located in a climate where it doesn’t rain much but not so here.

I’ll meet you halfway between NC and Long Island and take it off your hands.

Must not have experience with the wet noodle tops and zippers of the previous generations lol The new tops are a breeze to put up and down compared to the JK and previous years

Funny you say that about the door surrounds/rails. My wife and I were at the auto show this past spring and they had a JL naked without the surrounds on and my wife hated the look of it

I only have the soft top, and would not have it any other way.

Coming from a Miata, the JL soft top takes more time and took some to figure out. But I wouldn’t have a Jeep without one because it’s much easier than the hard top and safari mode will be great for the hot summer days.

I think you need to give it a little more time. I know what you mean about the look of top-down vs topless, but for me it's function over form. I personally have become a big fan of safari mode, I only use windows when it rains (or it's in the forecast). Still new to me (about 6 weeks with soft top on) but the feel of it makes it so I couldn't care less if anyone else doesn't like how it looks.

First Jeep. So I’m learning. Best vehicle ever.
But I still have to learn what works for me and how I’ll use it. It will be a fun summer.

I have found that even when it rains I don't need to have the back windows in. The back area gets wet but the cabin stays dry.

JL soft top is definitely better than older models! However you still need some time to put it on. I got soaked putting it back up in safari mode during a passing shower lol

I have the Sky One-Touch Power Top. I came from several Jeep freedom tops, naked Jeep's, and soft tops. I have loved all of them. If I lived in a perfect climate I would go soft top. It has been raining here or cold for months. I am glad to have the power top this year
