Soft Top Headliner / Noise / Hard top

On my Jeep, the hardtop (with Mopar headliner) is considerably quieter than my premium soft top.

Maybe there is something wrong with mine or I did not install my soft top correctly. It is nowhere near as quiet as any fixed roof vehicle I have been in. With my hardtop, my Jeep (at highway speeds) is about as noisy as my Infiniti Q50 Red Sport with UHP summer tires. Just that in the Infiniti, tire noise dominates whereas in my Jeep, wind noise dominates.

My premium soft top flaps (rattles) against a support rail on the highway. It's very far from quiet.

When we got our 2018 Sport S with premium soft top, we test drove a Sahara with hard top and there was little difference in noise level. We drove the same loop both times. The salesman stated, if you never plan on taking the top off, get the hard top. We knew we wanted to take the top off or just fold it back if the weather was iffy. So we got the soft top. No regrets!
