I'm trying to figure out how to carry a kayak or two when my soft top is on (trektop NX) without a full-bodied rack system.

So if I do this I will definitely never exceed 55mph and will have the bow and stern tied down to the frame. If the soft top is folded back, I will also tie the kayaks down around the rollbar

Can you do a pullup on a crossbar safely? Then definitely ok!
