It was a pain. I like the way the piece that covers the back of the back seats, but piece for the cargo area was a pain to connect to the gap filler.

I am interested in getting this but don't want to tear apart my back seat. Have pics of this installed?

I love the Mopar floor liners for the 1st and 2nd rows, but this cargo area portion isn't appealing to me. They go out of their way to protect the back of the seats, but leave 1/3rd of the floor carpet exposed. That's retarded. I'm going to wait and see what other offerings pop up for the cargo area.

Right now, and for the foreseeable future I haven't installed the portion of these mats that snap into the back of the back seats. Excellent video exists on how to do this; my point being my hesitancy lies in the idea that when I need to drop the back seats to transport things larger/longer than will fit in the basic cargo area with the back seats up, at that point I can simply lay down the portion of the kit that lies on the back of the back seats.

I'm not sure I want to make the imprints in the back of the back seat, much as they are all FCA blessed/designed for that.

But that's just me, right now.

I finally got a chance to install the Mopar Cargo Tray Mats on my JL Sahara. They provide protection for the Cargo area and the back of the rear seats. They also match the Mopar floor mats. The install was easy. Total time 30minutes. You have to install the gromets into the rear of the seats. The metal holes are already cut, all you have to do is feel around on the fabric for a metal opening and cut a small hole into the fabric and snap the gromets in the holes.

On mine the gap cover part of the mat continually comes off the seat back mats.

I just got mine installed, I conned the dealership into installing them for free. This became a reality when the parts guy agreed to "throw" them in for me, then learned that there were parts missing to install them, and that the install was more than just "throwing" them in the back of the Jeep. Three weeks later, I finally have them installed! Since he agreed to put them in for me, he had to honor the install for free!

I see why they left the sides exposed for the tie down rings but you stated my issue with the mopar real liner as well. I use my jeep to haul random yard waste for my rental properties and would prefer to have a map that cover all the back carpet. Waiting to see what aftermarket provides...

Until a better aftermarket version arrives, you can get a piece of textured indoor/outdoor carpet that is soft on both sides and easy to cut with a regular pair of scissors. It is thin enough to even tuck into some of the corners, fold under the seats, etc. and it covers everything. You can even leave some extra when you cut it and go up the sides to protect even more. It costs between $12 and $18 depending on how many yards you get - $0.40 per square foot. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Traffic...r-Outdoor-12-ft-Carpet-7PD5N620144H/203240737 And here are the measurements - https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...ons-measurements-cargo-trunk-rear-seats.2258/

Installed these a couple days ago, after the first couple cuts in the rear seats it’s no big deal, just start small. You can see how big of a cut you can get away with by pressing the clips into the fabric beforehand so it leaves an indentation. Gap hider isn’t that difficult either, as a cloth seat owner I’m sure happy to have that now.

Add me to the list of those disappointed with the coverage of the area that it’s primarily there to protect though.
