So... What if you crack the acoustic laminated windshield?

We made it three days and 151 miles before the dreaded stone chip in the construction zone around Daytona! The chip morphed into a graph of last weeks NASDAQ within minutes! Hopefully, Safelite will be here Wednesday with a Mopar replacement.

Here is a pic of the OEM/ Mopar acoustic windshield for the JL/JLU. It displays clearly the Mopar part# and the word "Acoustic".

No California so might as well call my insurance and ask once I get my Jeep. Never had that happened but never had a Jeep either lol

Have owned 5 Jeeps everyone with cracked windshield just happens left them that way like battle scars

That is the one I got from Safelite. Allstate will replace with OEM for a year, then you get to share in the love.

Bought my JLU end of January. Replaced my second windshield today. I’m hoping this is a freak things and I’m not cracking a windshield every 2-3 months. Thank Goodness for $0 deductible on glass!

Word to the wise: If ever you get a chip that's close to the edge, LEAVE IT ALONE. That's where i had it on my Tacoma. I called to have the chip repaired to keep it from spreading. The tech tells me before he starts "There's a 50/50 shot it'll spread when I start to apply vacuum". "Hell, 50/50 is damn good odds at a casino. Go for it" I replied. Soon as he puts the machine on, it spread like butter on hot down hill skillet. DANG. Then he says "Yeah, most of the time, when its close to the edge like that, it'll spread". I said "What the hell happened to 50/50?!"

It continues to spread to this day, oddly enough, in the shape of a penis. No kidding.
