On Tuesday 3/16/21 my 2020 JLUS died at the hands of an F150 red light runner. 18 months of great memories snuffed out in a split second. I’m sad about it for sure but looking to the future. I’m shopping around for a Rubicon now and would like your input. it was a 3.6 manual which is very hard to find out there now days With the recall situation. I have a trip scheduled for Moab in may so time is of the essence when it comes to replacing the Jeep.
questions….

What are your thoughts on the 3.6 e torque? They are more available.
what about the 2.0 turbo? They are much more available.
Chief blue or Nacho?
any feedback on the full time transfer case?
Is the Diesel worth the extra cash and 400 lbs. ?

thanks

The Jeep even had a sad face because it knew...
Glad you are okay.

Don't know enough about the diesel, Brad with trail recon had some good info on his.
I have a 21 JLUR on order with 2.0t because it didn't have the etorque and everyone seems to think it's solid.

get a rubi with the options you need. you may not find a manual.

nice to have for your trip:
the towing electrical gives you the Aux panel
the seats being cloth or softtop are probably fine
the lockers in the rubi, sway disco, 4:1 rock-track hd fulltime 4wd

manual shift not needed
hardtop/leather not needed

alpine / premium sound is not needed but a REAL pita to change a stereo in these vehicles. 8.4 with kicker is waaaay better than the other stuff you end up with. aftermarket stereos in the newer cars are sketch if you do get them working.

I've been building up my memories slowly over the past year also and I am sorry to hear about your incident. I'm sure you will get up in another Jeep to continue your memories with. Sucks that happened.

2.0 turbo for the high altitude; Rubicon for Moab. No mods needed....for moderate crawling. Neither of your color choices appeal to me...but that’s something only you can/should decide.

Do a factory order and get your Jeep built for you exactly the way you want it, and use one of the dealers in the site and get 4-8 points below invoice.. sorry about your Jeep glad everyone’s safe

Sort of, kinda retired....mostly
The 2.0 is much more than I expected. Test drive it. Plus, it has better low end torque then the 6 cylinder, which is what you need for crawling. The full time 4wd is great, but I live in an area that gets a lot of rain, and occasional snow and ice (north of Seattle), so it gets used more than if I lived in a dryer climate...like, say, Phoenix.

Sorry to see this. Glad you are okay.

I have Selec-Trac and love it. But I doubt you’d see its benefits in Phoenix.

For all the bad rep eTorque gets online, there are very few, if any, actual complaints with the system.

I’d skip on the diesel. Durability issues remain unanswered.

Test drive the V6 and 2.0T. The actual differences are so small it ends up being a matter of personal opinion.

Good luck.

if you can live with it the 2.0T without e-torque isnt a bad way to go. but My preference is the 3.6 none E-torque manual trans. i cannt get with the e -torque and the extra money its going to cost in the long run. and with the manual you dont have to worry about the ESS crap either. Just my 2 cents

Purely voting on color alone with this response. Chief Blue. There are a few JKs around me in that color and man does it look so good.

I'd love to find another manual but they are scarce right now. Mine was the only manual in the valley when I found it.

Sorry to see that a Cali transplant hit your car, they need to stay out of Arizona...lol (I'm from Phoenix, my parents still live at 43rd & Cactus).

I have a Sahara EcoDiesel and I love it. The gas mileage is great, the power is awesome, and while it's not the Hemi it'll still get funny looks when you start it and while you're at the pump. Yes the engine is new with Jeep but it's been in the Ram 1500 for a long time so it's a trusted engine.

Definitely go with the Rubi w/ upgraded stereo, it's way better and as previously mentioned a lot easier to order it then install it aftermarket.
