I guess if you do a lot of highway driving, it might be worth it.

Probably referring to the time you should let it sit before driving. I am getting the non Mopar version of this soon. I have to think it is the exact same without the markup.

For a thousand bucks, it should install itself. ;)

Isn't the Gorilla Glass windshield thinner than OEM? I've heard various stories about gaps around the windshield frame because the thinner glass doesn't fill up the channel. I read it on the internet so you know it's true!

I'm still sitting on my original windshield that had a crack horizontally through the middle. My quotes have ranged from $600-900 to replace. I may wait a bit until the summer to replace it with this gorilla glass, see what prices are like then.

Perhaps that price is for Wranglers with the Adaptive Cruise Control?

When I bought my 2019 Toyota Tacoma, in trying to get me to buy an extended warranty, the business manager informed me that the replacement windshield alone was $3,000, because of the all the fancy electronics.

Also, Quadratec normally sells Mopar-branded parts above what you can get them for at your Jeep dealer.

That's likely the price for a windshield replacement versus a replacement windshield. After replacing a windshield, you're supposed to get all the fancy sensors recalibrated which drives up the labor cost due to the specialized equipment/training needed. In talking to the local glass shop, they said it wasn't uncommon for it to run 2-3K to have a new windshield put in these days due to the additional labor.

I'm in the market for new glass myself right now. What I'm curious to find out is if I handle this as a claim through my insurance, are they going to allow me to install a $1000 Gorilla Glass windshield on their dime (after I pay the deductible of course)? With a $500 deductible, it sounds like my options are to go with generic glass for about $375 and avoid the insurance company altogether, or file a claim and pay the $500 for (hopefully) the Gorilla Glass option. I'll be more than a little bummed if they only want to cover the $600 OEM replacement. Also wondering if a glass claim will affect my policy rates down the road...

Some insurance companies replace cracked windscreens at no cost to the insured. I've been with the same insurer for more than 50 years and have never paid for a replacement. There has been a good number of them - including one on the Wrangler about a month after it was new.
