Food wise, Carla whipped up a breakfast wrap this morning. Eggs, bacon, feta cheese, sun dried tomatoes, spinach and garlic.

We plan to move our base camp from Mingus Mountain by Jerome Arizona to somewhere over between Flagstaff and Sedona with the preference of being closer to Sedona. We will probably get a hotel Wednesday night and chill in a pool and hot tub and recharge before we set out for another two or three weeks of straight camping.

Getting laundry and life maintenance things done for the rest of the day.
If you are going thru Zion National Park and want a really tough hike go up to La Angel's Landing.
It is one of Zion's most specular scenic outlooks; it can be reached only by a very demanding hike on the West Rim Trail. Beautiful views but tough hike. My son just hiked it last week.

Looks great. Cook the bacon tad more and replace that Feta with Sharp!!! ;)

I bet a night in hotel is a welcome change of pace!!:like:
A night in a hotel is a nice treat. Hang at the pool and hot tub is awesome. We are on the move from about 0640 to dark just about every day so just being inside is nice. Remember we eat 98% of our meals outside….

While in Sedona try the Red Rock Valley State Park just a few minutes out of town and hike the Eagles Nest Trail.
Incredible views, foot traffic only.
Will have to look it up.

We have hiked Angels Land twice. We did it on this trip a month or so ago. The post is on page 32 of this thread

We have been to the Mexico border many times already on this trip. The current plan is to move over by Sedona tomorrow and spend a week there. Jeeping and hiking, then to Flagstaff for Overland Exo West. After Overland Expo to Joshua Tree, Big Bear in California then be in Seattle by June 14th. On June 15th we have an eight day cruise to Alaska booked. After the cruise we head to Alaska with the Jeep.
Ted, Enjoy wheeling in my backyard...CA. CA has a lot of things that aren't great, but IMO, the best thing about CA is the outdoors.

Carla will not give me a day off . Thought hey do some laundry have lunch hang out some….no, she said drive me to Sedona, I want to hike the Devil’s Bridge.

Devil’s Bridge has been on my list for well over a year. So off we go it ended up being about a 5 mile hike. We could have drove the Jeep down the Jeep trail to the base of the mountain where you start the assent but she was not having that.

The Sedona area is so beautiful.

Well after dinner, the color splashed across the sky at our base camp . I had to snap a couple Jeep pics and a couple random pics from camp.

Ted, are you folks still headed south to the border in AZ? If so, you may want to look at heading thru the country around Tombstone, Cochise Nat Mon, Bisbee mining town (upscale old western mining town), across to the Coronado Nat Mon, thru the trails from there to Canelo, and up to Sonoita. Everything from desert to mountains all in a day's drive and place camp up in the Parker lake area.
I think the Chiricahua National Monument is one of the most unique places to see. People go to see Bryce but have never heard of this place.
Jeep Wrangler JL So it begins Michigan to the Mexico border to Alaska and back. Three JLUR and campers. ccb6818a-72d7-4ea5-8109-c82dfbad51e1Original

We would have stopped there when we were in that area, but we were trying to escape the cold back in the first week of February.

yup did Angels Landing today. Pretty crazy day. Last night Angie mom slipped and fell putting her into the hospital with a head wound. She is in he eighties and then later in the night her aunt passed away. It was a rough day for that girl. We made breakfast as they weighed their options. After breakfast they were like we have to do Angels Landing today in case we need to go home. Off we went. This is the second time Carla and I have completed the full hike to the top.

Heights do not bother me at all. This is the highest point of Angles Landing.

This was outside of her comfort zone many times. She faced her fears and pushed past her limits to make it to the top. This is the biggest hike to date she has done. A few months ago she would not have had the conditioning to do this. Hats off to her.

Plan to do Jeeping the next couple days. Toquerville Falls today and Sand Hollow tomorrow.
I see now. missed this one. My son sent pics from the top where the chain rails were. They (new girlfriend) went on 2-week camping trip across Grand Canyon and into Utah. My son lost his Jeep last May. I posted it at that time.

His ex-girlfriend was hit by a lady making left turn in front of her. The Jeep flipped and rolled many times. She was ejected. She spent few months in hospital with head injury.

He had been working out of town during the week days and home on weekends. While she was in hospital and he was home some guys came by apt. looking for her. Thinking he was not home. Long story short he stayed with her until she recovered and then went his separate way.

This was what was left of his jeep. He still has not made up his mind about getting another Jeep. It was lifted 3.5 and made it to easy to roll.

I remember the post about your son’s jeep being totaled. Sad sorry for sure. Glad to hear it has worked itself out as best as possible. There are few reasons to own a Jeep. One of the best ones though is being able to go wheeling with your dad. He may need a reminder. Plus the reality is a Prius is not much fun to drive on an adventure.

Yea, he lives in Jacksonville FL and I live in Texas. When he came through here last month he was in her auto. Packed full. With roof carrier. He mainly drove on the beach there. When he first got it the ladies flocked to it on beach. lol Thats how he met his first girlfriend. One day he might make his mind up.
