So Are We Supposed to Wave to Renegades?

I initiate a wave with a Wrangler or a descendant there of... I’ll wave back at any Jeep except for a Jeep Patriot. They get a blank stare.

I feel like waving to them is when you’re on your bike and a moped stops next to you. Then does the peace sign and you just stare at them and that one percent of niceness comes out and you just nod. I feel like I will be doing a lot of nodding this summer.

As a 14 year Jeep veteran, I say yes, you wave to all Jeeps, as it is called the “Jeep Wave” and not the Wrangler Wave. Besides that, there’s nothing wrong with a little mutual respect.

To me the Jeep wave is something special that Wrangler owners do. It's not meant to be exclusive, but something special between Wrangler owners. If someone driving another Jeep that's not a Wrangler waves, sure, wave back. But it doesn't make you a D-bag to not specifically initiate a wave with owners of other models of Jeep.

I live in a medium sized city in the NE. If I waved at ALL Jeeps, I'd have carpel tunnel before even making it to work...

I think it's called the "Jeep wave" because it originated back before the "Wrangler" name came out. Back when people said 'Jeep' they meant CJ.

I initiate a wave to Wranglers (and their direct predecessors including CJs).

I will return a wave from any Jeep vehicle.

I nod to the rest of the inferior 4wd vehicles out there if they wave to me. I mean seriously if toyo’s or gmcs want a wave at least put a Jeep decal on it

I had a Renegade, and it's an awesome little car. Thing is spectacular in the snow. More than a few snowstorms where I'd chug along just fine while big, tough pick up trucks would be spinning their wheels and sliding into sidewalks lol

Because I'm not a "Dick" and I grew up in the MidWest where everyone gives you a wave and they stop to make sure you're ok if you are parked along the road. It just the right thing to do.

I wave at all Wranglers because we have something in common. I don't have much in common with GC or Cherokees. I also don't have much in common with soccer moms.
