Hi,

I’m in search of a snowboard/ski rack for my 2018 JL Rubicon Unlimited. It doesn’t have the towing package so I’d like something that can be mounted on the spare tire. I have seen the Thule THC9003 but it says it doesn’t fit the 2018 model. Also that rack depends on an existing bike rack which is not compatible since the backup camera is installed. So an ideal one would be something that wraps around the spare tire.

Thanks!

Do the 2 products pair well with each other?
I have the quadratec 4 bike rack with a thule tram ski rack, they both work together just fine.

My Jeep has a soft top so the roof mount is not an option that’s why I was looking for a hitch mount/ spare tire solution

I got Thule gutter mounts and Aeroblades, had aeroblades on my grand Cherokee and had no issues with Thule (ever) so I got their stuff. I am driving to Vermont this weekend, I’ll post a pic on Sunday.

Just put this on. Rhino Rack Crossbars and Yakima FatCat Evo 4. So far so good. Hoping to use it this coming weekend.

I'm thinking of the Fabbri Gringo...it'll hide the camera but probably not such a big issue, especially on the two door. I see a lot of these around here.

There are lot of options if you have a hard top. I use the same set up for my Pilot but for the Jepp with a soft top, the only options are either tire mount or hitch mount.

For those interested in the hitch mount, I’m going to post pictures of what it looks like. Pros: it is easy to load/unload the skis/snowboards.
Cons: the skis/snowboards catch all the
mud on the road; to load/unload your luggage, you have to clear remove the skis/snowboards from the hitch before you can unlock the hitch.

With snowboard ski season hopefully on the horizon what is everyone doing to carry their stuff since last we left off with this thread. Also for those mounting to the hardtop gutter rail does that approach scratch the ever scratch easy black hardtop. Pics and input appreciated.
