So I noticed a small leak in the rear passenger seat/ rear part of door area. Sat back there durning yesterdays rain storm and it does nor appertains to be coming from roof. Looks like is originating from rear passenger door or perhaps the rear removable window. Is there anything I should check before bring to dealer? The only thing I can think of is when I first bought the jeep, I tried removing the rear window and quickly re installed it. Could I have not sealed it properly? Is there something else on the weather stripping I should check? TIA

I would check that window and the related weather strip. I have the plain hard top. Ran with the freedom panels out a lot before the weather turned colder.

I always reinstall the freedom panels when I’m done with the Jeep for the day.

On on occasion, it was raining lightly the following do so the panels were not removed. I did however have experience a wind noise issue. I simply removed the Freedom Panels and the wind noise was gone.

So as easy as it is to remove those side panels on your wrangler, that is where I would recommend starting. Then trial with some water on the roof and along the top of the Jeep side to see if it took care of it. If it did not you can continue to investigate from there.

It is very likely that it is a weatherstrip issue.

Good luck!!!!

@JeepCares, Thanks. cant find exactly where the water is coming in from. I have an apt with my local Jeep dealer 1/14. Their leak specialist will be on location to resolve issue. Will post back.

@JeepCares. So the dealer had my Jeep for 3 day’s to repair leak and creaking noise from the same area as the leak was coming from. Their “ leak specialist “ said the leak was coming from the roof, despite the fact that I saw the water forming from removable window. The dealer said this was much more complex, and they haven’t worked on many of the one touch roofs. Long story short, as soon as I left the dealer , the creaking noise was exactly the same as it’s always been. Today we had a major rainstorm and the same rear upper carpet area was drenched. So please advise what next steps I should take?

So after many delays with PM'ing @JeepCares back and forth I decided to call Jeep to escalate the situation. I explained to them none of the repairs(water leak and rattling from same area as leak) worked. I also explained how the dealer( Nielson Jeep, East Hanover NJ) and their "leak specialist" have not worked on many of the Sky One Touch roofs. They had my Jeep for three days, which every day brought another excuse why the repairs were taking so long. As soon as I left the dealership I heard the same creak. Next day rain storm and I had to shop vac the water. On The invoice all they did was "adjust seal and tightened rear handles" OK no big deal, sometimes it takes more than one visit to fix. I called my SA (Rolland) 6 times and left 3 messages over a week. None were returned. I called the service manager (Manny) and left 3 messages. None returned. Jeep/FCA called Manny and was placed on hold for over a hour(I was on with them when they got the run around). FCA told me this has never happened to them. They made me an appointment with another dealer(no loner car, that would have been a 3 week delay). Jeep goes in tomorrow. Needless to say very underwhelmed with Jeep/FCA. I'll keep you posted.

Which dealer is the other one? Team Welsh Jeep in Far Hills offers good service but they’re a small dealer. Not sure how they are with loaners but the service manager and techs were very friendly. I wouldn’t expect a lapse in communication on their part.
