Anyone have recommendations for a 2.0? Gearing up before we hit some more aggressive trails in 2022.

I have a suggestion. No matter what you install, make sure you put something like anti seize on all of the fastener threads. The amount of times a customer comes in with skid plates and it takes me an hour of extra time just to drill/cut out the rusted/seized fasteners, becomes a common affair. We even have customers come in and can't remove their own skid plates due to this. Also, try to avoid any allen head type fasteners. Might look cool new, but can be a real pain down the road.

Also, whatever you buy, think about above and when doing oil changes. Some allow you to change the oil and filter but then spend 10 minutes cleaning the plate because it fills up with oil. Last thing a customer wants to see is remaining oil dripping out in various locations.

I had some issues with my 2018 2.0 JLR and the M.O.R.E. skid. They seem like a great company to work with and have likely fixed the issue already (and it might not be an issue with the 2019+ 2-door's gas tank). Unfortunately I had already bought an Asfir skid, but M.O.R.E. gave me a full refund without needing to ship the skid back (so I gave it to my long wheelbase friend).

I didn't weigh them, but it was a huge difference. The Asfir is about twice as thick, but probably half the weight. I haven't really looked into it, but I'm not sure the Asfir material is as weak as I've seen people post. To me it looks like the weak point would be at the transmission crossmember, where they've added some slotted (drain?) holes.

Check this for more details https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/2-0-engine-skid-plates.49229/page-20

One other thing I don't see mentioned much is that the crossmember that gets removed on the 2.0s is used as a gas tank support on the 2-doors. I'm not sure it really adds a whole lot of support, and I don't see the harm in it's removal. If anything the newly exposed welded on bolt sticking down from the gas tank skid is more of a concern than the lack of support... I'll probably cut it off if I ever rub it on anything.

+1 on this. I added a valvomax to my oil pan before installing my engine/transmission skid plate.

By the way OP. Asfir has aluminum plates very fairly priced for the 2.0.

I am running the Metalcloak Undercloak skids, and absolutely love them. They are heavy, but the protection is well worth it. I have banged them up pretty hard in the rocks, and they barely show signs of wear. Excellent piece of mind.

I also added a Fumoto valve to my drain pan for oil changes and makes them a breeze.

Iā€™m thinking about going with ASFIR. Donā€™t like adding weight or having a messy oil change, but the 2.0T oil pan sits so low.

EDIT - drank enough bourbon two nights ago to pull the trigger on the ASFIR kit. Will get a free WAVE oil change done before I install.

I also bought mine after a few bourbons on the rocks. I've been holding for new shocks and teraflex spacers for a while. Keeps haunting me. Maybe I should have some bourbon tonight.

T/C skid looks excessive, but it wasnā€™t that much more and itā€™s been awhile since Iā€™ve spent money in Israel. How long did it take for yours to arrive?

FWIW: The Asfir transfer case skid isn't 100% compatible with the 2-door's eTorque battery. The battery coolant lines are supported by some OEM bracket that gets removed, and the Asfir doesn't have any replacement for this support.
