Sitting on the overhead speaker bar?

Could someone verify what exactly is the overhead speaker bar made of? Is this only a hollow speaker holder or is that something stronger than two people can sit on top of? Is it part of the roll cage? I don't dare to sit on it unless I know what is inside and if it can hold the weight. Thanks for all your help!

I've sat on it a bunch of times with other people watching fireworks, air shows etc. No issues at all.

Exactly, roll cage is meant to support the weight of the car... I always sit on mine and Im 90kgs.. No idea what that is in bald eagle units.. sorry..

To be clear, the JL (or the JK) does not have a roll cage. It's called a Sports Bar for a reason. The Sports Bar and the Windshield frame give no protection during a rollover.

Wow Ab, was just going to write that there had to be a vehicle weight supporting roll bar in that speaker rack but your picture is very convincing otherwise!
Of course people sitting on it would be ok but I’ve just been educated.

Back in 2009 this fellow survived a rollover at 70 MPH on the Florida Turnpike.

According to the driver:

“It didn't happen on a trail, but on the highway. 70mph with multiple rolls. I know the rollover ratings are not great, but I beg to differ. Aside from the windshield coming in on me, the passenger compartment held up great.”

I remember seeing this when I had my first JK; it helped me make my mind about driving Wranglers.
