I also run a roof rack and used the @blnewt relocation method on both of my JLs. It has worked out perfectly.

Yes, in my case a JL Sport 2dr. We've driven over 2000 miles since I installed the antenna there w/ no dead zones or breakups, so it's a great location, especially in your case.

Something to consider. If you have Sirius XM on your other vehicle(s), check to see if that account includes streaming. If so, connect your phone, and stream through android auto or car play (assuming car play does it, I have android). Of course, that won't work when you are out of cellular coverage areas.
