July of 2019 had to fish at 3,000 feet on this river because so much cold snowmelt was keeping the trout lethargic at higher elevations. Last week the water temps were comfortable at 6,000 feet.

It’s pretty dry this year. A couple positives- paddling Lake Tahoe is interesting at low tide has some nice views of underwater boulders, not many mosquitoes in the high country and I never touched the snow shovel until spring to put back in the shed.

Changing weather is a constant, nothing to be concerned about. SW Colorado was screaming drought this spring but had above average snowfall and now a healthy monsoon season is causing all kinds of flooding and mudslide issues.
