Side View Mirror replacement on a JL/JT (DIY instructions)

Something you as a JL or JT owner might very well find yourself wanting/needing to replace is the side view mirror(S) .

The JLJT's side view mirror is a tad easier to deal with then the JK's side view mirror.. Only takes about 10 min to do ...

IF, you go to replace a side view mirror on a JL/JT and find a plastic covering over the 3 retaining bolts that hold the side view mirror.... Do know that the plastic aftermarket cover you see is held on by double sided tape. Just use a hair dryer to gently heat the cover and then carefully pry the cover up. You will need new 3M double sided tape to re-install the cover.

I have the power and heated mirrors on my JL Sport. My mirror was broken by a bicycle rider. Could I replace it with a mirror that also has blind spot detection? If so, could I get the detection to work?
