Haha Jeep won't buy it, but they do share my photos on instagram from time to time. And it was in central VT, in a field. We have a lot of dark sky for these photos.
The only celestial objects I can see most nights are planets and the moon. This is true even if I go way out in the wilds of West Virginia. Maybe it's not light pollution. Maybe my eyes just suck now.

Probably the most interesting thing about this locale is how short the trees are. Trees just don't get tall up there at the very top of these ridges. I'm not sure if it's poor soil, a lack of moisture, high wind, or maybe they just don't bother getting tall, because they're already closer to the sun than their tallest cousins down in the valley below. Anyway, I like this photo of my green Jeep with my deluxe doggy staircase for Her Majesty.

So I just got back from my 2600 mile adventure through 5 National Parks (CRNP, GTNP, YNP, BCNP, ZNP). If only I could have gotten some of the epic shots I had with the wildlife and my Jeep. Enjoy!

haha I think it has more to do with light pollution. I live near dark skies with very little pollution. Obviously the camera picks up a lot more, but you can see the galactic center if you let your eyes focus for a little bit. It's that clear in my area.
