I'm covering Hurricane Michael and decided to bring our new Jeep Wrangle JLUS. I've covered many hurricanes for the newspaper/website I work for and 4WD is always handy. I was shooting some video and photos of the first outer bands at sunset and decided I needed a better avatar for my profile page on this forum. Thought this turned out well!

Document the rust proofing process, I am interested in doing something similar when I get mine. Please and thank you!!!!!
I second that. I’d really like to do something like that when I get mine also

So you cant order dual top group with a 2 door? Note I never tried the configurator for 2 door.

Pick it up Thursday, dropped off some new microfibers and gave them and some good Megs wash to the detail guy, asked him to just give it a quick wash, dont want the optional swirl marks:) My other freinds will do the rest of the prep. Funny thing is they have to load software to get it out of transport mode, the cluster wouldnt show how many miles were on it at delivery.

Will drive it some this weekend then rip it apart to rust proof, got my Eastwoods Internal Frame coating, Rust Encapsulator, Chasis Black epoxy paint and Hevy Duty anti rust ready to go, plus 12 cans of fluid film.
Let me know exactly how you’re going to rust proof her. I want to do the same when I get mine!

Here a few pics, basically power washed the underside, note we only drove it a couple days in dry weather and it was delivered clean off the car carrier, so was pretty spotless underneath. Placed on jack stands, painted 1 coat Eastwoods Rust Encapsulator and 1 coat Chasis black epoxy paint. Used 1 qt of each and 4 aerosol cans each. I used about 8 cans of their inner frame coating which I shot with a wand into the interior of the frame, cross members and rockers. This stuff is a zinc phenolic and hardens, used to restore rusty frames but better when new. I also pulled both bumpers and painted behind them. While everything was apart I pulled brakes, calipers and brackets and painted calipers and brackets with Eastwoods 2 stage caliper paint. Also pulled the front wheel bearings and put grease in the knuckle and reinstalled so down the road can get them out. I also as last step sprayed this stuff called Undercoating in a can from Petroleum supply Company over everything, note it isnt a rubberized thick coating, more of a waxy rust coating, has Mil spec and is used in the trucking industry. Used about 11 cans. Finally shot fluid film, lanolin oil based fluid, seeps into everything, into the frames and rockers over the frame coating.
Will spray the fluid film inside the doors, gate and yank the rear tail lights and hopefull treat above the rear wheel arches.

Picked ours up around noon today. Just got home a bit ago. 280 miles. Drove really well. No cracked windshield (yet)!
Everything worked just fine. We are glad to finally get it and have it home.

Well I’ve gone and done it now...This is what happens when you stop to “just take a look”.

That’s what I did too.....I stopped to “just have a look” and ended up ordering a white one with the tan. Yours is sweet, enjoy!

I looked real hard at the white with tan interior, but ultimately couldn’t get past the orange.
