There seems to be a common problem where you don't get any sound from the speakers. This is instantly resolved by hitting AM.
There's a couple of threads on this. On one of the threads Jeep Cares mentioned that if you have the problem to reach out so they can collect data. I did. I received the below email back.

I was wondering if there's any value to ME by bringing my jeep in so someone can say yep...can't reproduce. But at least its an "official inspection"

thoughts?
thanks.

Thank you for reaching out. We've been collecting VINs and sending them to the appropriate parties. Right now, we don't have any new development but I have added your VIN to the list. Are you thinking of working with the dealer to get this officially inspected? I can escalate a case on your behalf so that a case specialist can coordinate with the dealer and get you a loaner while the diagnosis is taking place. Please let me know your thoughts towards this.

I have experienced the same issue, not a regular occurence but has happened a couple of times. Now that you mentioned it the AM button may have resolved if for me as well as it cycled through punching lots of buttons to see what would work and I noticed the AM radio working first. Had been listening to Sirius XM when it started.

It never hurts to have it documented at your dealer. I would take it in, and let them have a look. Of course it won't show it's ugly head at the dealer, but it will be in the system.

I had it happen 2-3 times and mentioned it to my dealer when I took it in to have the good ole "wandering" problem looked at a week or so ago. Naturally they were unable to reproduce it, which I fully expected would be the case. The advisor said they checked for any software updates, but that there wasn't any. She mentioned they'd documented it in case any fixes came along. Right after the visit I had it happen again and finally researched it on here to find it was a common issue. I had never tried hitting AM, though I probably hit about everything else trying to get sound when it happened. Hoping that hitting AM gets mine going again the next time it happens.

Knock on wood, that is the only issue I've had with the Alpine/UConnect system...really happy with it otherwise.

I'm having an issue right now with my aftermarket alpine speakers . I had them professionally installed by a very reputable place. Half the speakers arent working (passenger side). Was intermittent. I have been told that it is an issue with the uconnect system losing audio signal.

Jeep dealer (whom I dont trust due to other issues they have fixing problems on my new jeep) said uconnect doesnt have any issues (which a quick Google search will debunk). At any rate. It seems uconnect is very buggy, but there is an lack of willing to accept responsibility on their part or Jeep' . Very frustrating. Alpine is making a head unit for the JL and I'm looking forward to switching once they d .
