I'm planning on rocking 315/70r17 on my jl rubicon 2drs with 2' springs lift. Is it necessary to change the front driveshaft, tie rods, and drag links? I'll also be upgrading the steering stabilizer as well. Anyone had the same setup on stock suspension/axle parts? Share with me your experience/expertise please!

pretty small lift, driveshafts will be fine, drag link/ tie rods is dependent on adjustability from the factory, but IIRC it should be doable safely

You can run 315/70r17 on a JL Rubicon without a lift if you want to preserve the stock suspension geometry.

If you do lift it 2", things that will get it back closer to the stock suspension geometry will be longer front lower control arms (The longer Mopar ones are a cheap option. They are sold individually so be sure to buy two), a front adjustable track bar, and a rear track bar relocation bracket. You will also want something to recalibrate your new tire size.

Your rear tire carrier 3rd break light can also be adjusted higher to sit above the 315/70r17 so be sure to add that to your to-do list.

Thanks, that was very helpful.
I've seen many run 35s with no lift but I feel like 1.5-2" lift would be ideal for 35s. I will take your advise regarding control arms and trackbars into consideration. I will also order spare tire carrier relocation kit to fit the 35" tire with out it rubbing my stock bumper and hinge reinforcement.

You can use the tire carrier that came with the Jeep. You just need to remove some screws and raise the light on it to the next position up. A 35" tire should clear your bumper with the original tire carrier. If the tire is too wide you can use a wheel spacer instead of replacing the tire carrier.

my '23 2-door Rubicon now has 3/4" spacer level lift with 392 315/70r17 take-off's sourced locally. setup has exceeded all expectations... if using stock wheels (offset) ended up doing Mopar HD spare tailgate reinforcement... and used some wheel spacers sourced from Amazon so spare tire isn't too smashed against 3rd light perch. With K02's MPG hasn't suffered too much with the 2.0T... City / Mixed is about the same 22ish... Hwy fell to 20-21, but that may be a little owed to winter fuel?

Looks great!
In my case, I need to change my springs to hold my heavy overlanding rig. And unfortunately in my place (middle east) we dont have many options so I'm forced to either buy the ironman 4x4 medium coil springs that give a 2" lift or the heavy one that can hold heavier loads and lift 2.5". So I'm probably going to get the medium one because 2" is more than enough. Or I can order from quadratec or any other American website but the shipping cost sooooooo much. So I'm stuck with my local-limited options.

Regarding the spare tire I'm considering to get the Carnivore spare tire reinforcement bracket kit that comes with a relocation bracket for the spare tire carrier because I heard that 35s can rub into the stock bumper. What's your case, does it rub?

You won’t need reinforcement if you get lighter 35’s. My stock weight with 31 Lb factory 7 1/2” beadlock capable and 285/70 KO2’s was 82 lbs. The factory Falken MT option is a 62/64 Lb tire. I got lighter 59 Lb Toyo 35/12.50/C AT3’s (terrific tire so far). After replacing the wheels with much lighter 8 1/2” non beadlock the combo weight is 80 Lbs. I needed relocation so I got featherweight aluminum Teraflex relocation brackets….. the first bought unused ~15 Lb steel RC relocation that would have been over reinforcement weight with the stock beadlock in the garage

No rubbing. Been offroading some in eastern NV... handles great on highway and offroad. I'm an avid overlander too. I'll get a clamshell and roof rack here soon. Have a winch to install that I hope to hide inside the plastic bumper cover aside from the fairlead. Interested in seeing your rig once it's setup. Please share pics and any tips!!!

Do any modifications that you want, make the Jeep yours. Well except for an angry grille, that just makes a Jeep look like a clown car...
