They finally came out with one for the JK(took them long enough!) I'm hoping that the use of cables makes it easier for the aftermarket to come up with something. Most cars I've owned with cable operated shifters had inexpensive but effective options available.

The shifter is worlds better, and shorter than the JK but I wouldn't call it short. I personally would pay to have a 25% or so reduction in throw.

I hope B&M and others can get one for the JL in reasonable time. I personally get the most bang for buck out of my SS setup on my current S4.

The JK has the shifter mounted directly to the top of the trans with internal linkage. the JL has cables and a remote shifter. The JL has a shorter throw.

Looks like B&M now has short throw shifter for JL (saw on quadratec), that’s supposed to reduce throw by 18%...anyone try one of these yet?

Even though the JL is shorter throw than the JK, is it still too long for some of you guys? My JLUR is on order, I spec'd the manual, but haven't been able to find one on a lot to test drive so I'm in the dark on how it actually feels. Sure wish I could find one to test drive in the meantime.

It’s very smooth but it’s a little long. Then again-I’m coming from a 2012 Mustang GT
w Barton short-throw which I loved, so...I’ve been spoiled. Haha

I look forward to your impressions. Before my Jeep life I was also used to sports cars with short shift kits. I recall SSK being one of my favorite mods on the sports cars.
The JL transmission is 100x better than the JK, but I think a shorter throw would make it perfect.
