How can I tell if my 4x4 is engaging. I get the service 4x4 light after about 15 min. If I do a full circle turn I do not feel any pulling. I think I feel a difference in the pedal feel though. How can I tell if it’s engaging?

You're on the right track.

Find an open area (gravel or dirt is best - not pavement). Turn tightly in 2WD to see what that feels like, then shift to 4H and do the same. If it's working, you will definitely feel the difference - you'll feel the Jeep and the front wheels jumping a bit.

There are probably other ways to do it, but that's the way I check if I have any question.

In 4 wheel drive, if you make a sharp turn on pavement you feel skidding. You're not supposed to run 4 wheel drive on dry pavement though.
Another way is to find some dirt and floor it. Have someone stand outside to see if only the rear wheels are spinning. If you only have rwd there will be rooster tails of dirt shooting out the back wheels.
