Serv 4wd light and code …. Again

So I got the same code and warning light a few months back. It was suggested I delete my aux battery. I did and it worked like a charm.

I have the same code again and warning light….

I’m thinking maybe my main battery is finally giving out? Only reason that doesn’t seem fully right is I haven’t had any start up lags and I checked my battery tonight (while driving) with jscan and it was reading at 13 volts.

Any thoughts?

So code was clear this morning by itself. Battery read 11 volts before start up and 13 volts after start up. Through Jscan.

OEM Battery on a 2018?? Replace your battery with a high quality H7. 11 volts is a dead battery even if it comes up.

I'd go H8.

11v is the culprit probably. You might notice your infotainment screen is a little slow to boot up as well.

If you are a Costco member, they have great prices on batteries. Walmart too.

If your battery is @ 11V, that an issue. Charge it, load test, and go from there.

Battery voltage running should be 13.5-15.5 volts. Take it to get load tested

Dump the main battery and use 4 aux ones instead. I heard it from a Stellantis engineer so it must be right

Yeah when the jeep is running it’s reading at 13 but when the engine is off but the ignition is in the run position it was reading at 11

Charge and load test. It will probably fail load test and that will tell you to replace.

Ordered an odyssey …. The service four-wheel-drive light will go off after I have shut the jeep down for a little while and then turn it back on, but it pops on after it’s been running for a bit. This is the J scan view of what it looks like with the ignition in the run position, but not running then underload and then running.

Good choice! I'm a big Odyssey fan boy. I've had great results with them for years. Just replaced one in my Polaris Ranger that was in it since 2012.

That’s awesome! Yeah I could have got an optima yellow top today for $368 or the odyssey on Wednesday from Amazon for like $318 I think it was


With the jeep at 11volts cold then dipping into the 10’s during crank I’m thinking that’s the issue. Hopefully it’ll last me the week so I’m not stranded somewhere!


I plan to pull the aux battery completely out when I do the change. Should save me a few lbs

Will do…hoping it’s the battery. @Aonarch mentioned my infotainment screen possibly being laggy if the battery was going…I’ve noticed this but haven’t thought anything about it. So hopefully all signs point to a simple fix
