Didn't catch that. Whatever works. I wouldn't, but its not mine. If its getting filled and painted, I would at least try the slot trick.Yes hence why it’s getting smoothed and filled and painted

ugghhh. i missed that part. Good luck. either weld to it and try and back it out or smooth it out and paint itHe already broke off a drill bit in the bolt.
Dremel is the last tool to reach for in the tool box. The absolute last tool! Could I say it another way? The absolute last tool. As in "Never use that tool"
I’ve already created some extra work. If it wasn’t a self tapper I might give this a try but it’s likely just cross threaded into the metalDidn't catch that. Whatever works. I wouldn't, but its not mine. If its getting filled and painted, I would at least try the slot trick.
Great idea. Use a tungsten carbide dremel bit. It's raised enough that you might be able to take a small Dremel cutting wheel and notch a slot into the top of it to allow a screwdriver to back it out.
I’d love to. Tried that. But then went to an extractor bit that broke off. I can’t drill through it nowI would begin with a small drill and drill it out - increasing the drill size each time - go slow and eventually you will get it to break apart. Then you have the choice to tap properly or drill it out and put in a Rosen or Keensert -
looks like the Dremel - https://jalopnik.com/heres-how-you-remove-a-fractured-bolt-extractor-tip-fro-1746998630I’d love to. Tried that. But then went to an extractor bit that broke off. I can’t drill through it now
thanks. Not worth damaging it further when I don’t need the hole. I’ll use the passengers sid for the mount and fill this one no problem
Why didn’t I think of thatshould have welded a nut on it and got it out.
