Second Trip to Sam Houston National Forest

Our son came in from Indiana for a visit for a week and with the cooler temps we made our way out to Sam Houston for a day trip and he brought his drone, very cool day as we all got to be together.

Hi, I'm Scooters alter ego wet blanket. I like drones. Had one since the phantom 1. Don't be too surprised if you get a call from those nice folks at the FAA. They've been working from home(wuflu) and a lot of what they do is watch YT videos. More to the point; I believe it is not lawful to fly a drone in a NP or NF...(nothing at all to worry about. I hear they are polite and informative)


I won't but I could show you some video of people shooting at my drone along with a few stories of unreasonable trouble from Karen and Daren, john law... ... and before you come to conclusions, I live on acreage and am not currently on any idiot lists. They just seem to be a trouble magnet for me...

@TrailScooter thanks for the info, I looked on their web page before we went and did not see anything on drones but that does not mean a thing so I will be mindful in the future

We went down every road we found that my Jeep would fit, back roads were kinda muddy as it had rained a few days before we went but not bad, not any serious wheeling but had a great time and got some mud on the tires

quiet away from the city is enough for me. When in college we used to bike there a lot.

At quick glance, looks like a NF is OK but a NP is not.. False alarm. Wet blanket out...
