Well need to cut off the body, still need a tongue frame, need to remove alot of dead weight, need to add insulation, etc... You can get a nice squaredrop for 10k with a bunch of accesories like fan, shower, roof rack, rear galley kitchen, etc...

You can buy a barebones squaredrop brand new for 5k or less. Itll end up coming up to the same youll spend building your own.

People spending 30k for a box on wheels to haul their RTT. well.... to each their own ...

I guess I'm not sleeping in the back. I'm 6ft. Looks like it's definitely a tent for me. Probably will have to be a ground tent since I'm getting the soft top and since I already own a pretty big tent.
I've looked at this very problem quite a bit, and I'm here to tell you that 72" measurement is a fantasy in the JL... at least on the floor. The only way to get that 72" is with a raised platform.
