Hi Scott, I know what you are talking about. This is full of strange coincidences and awkward situations. I will try to explain it all to you in the simplest terms, even though it is not easy.
① This is a newly established brand. I am inexperienced. When setting the shipping rules, I forgot to set Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Alaska as additional shipping costs, and set the entire United States as free shipping. And this gentleman happened to be from Hawaii.
② Because I did not make it clear in advance that only the continental United States was free shipping, this was my negligence, and I am willing to bear the consequences, even if the shipping cost may be as high as $1,000. But the embarrassing situation is that my logistics carrier told me that they can't ship from our newly opened Los Angeles warehouse to Hawaii. It has nothing to do with the cost. They just told me that they can't. I am not an expert in logistics. I asked them to find a solution but they just told me that they couldn't. I even tried to send this batch of goods to another warehouse first, and then send it to Hawaii. I am still trying to figure it out.
Thanks for responding. My intent wasn’t to throw you under the bus and maybe I should have sent you a PM so I apologize. You definitely completed the whole picture and it makes sense. I wish you guys luck. If I wasn’t already set I would order. I like the doors you guys designed and the price is great.

③ As for why I didn't refund him, this is another long story, because my Paypal account was newly opened, and I charged everyone a $2 deposit on the Gladiator Forum, because I didn't want to charge too much money, I was afraid that the goods would be delayed, and it didn't make sense to rely on the deposit to tie customers, but I wanted to predict how many people were interested in my door.
So my Paypal flow has always been $2 per order, until the day of the sale, when suddenly my account came with several thousand dollars, which caused Paypal to detect abnormal transactions in my account. They froze all my funds over $100, and only unfrozen them for me from July 1 this year. This also led to the fact that when I operated a refund on Shopify, only the order cancellation email was sent out, but only $0 was returned. I immediately asked Paypal for help, and the response I got was that I could only wait patiently. I also found it strange that customers could pay me, but I couldn't return it to them.
③Maybe I forgot to mention that I am from China, and there is a huge time difference between me and this gentleman, but I can also reply to every email of his within half an hour. I don't think many companies can do this. I just want to prove with my actions that I didn't just give up after something happened. No sir, don't worry, I don't mind talking about it publicly, thank you for mentioning it and giving me the opportunity to talk about it. EF can be loved by many members in the Gladi forum because we have always maintained an open and honest attitude. The Chinese version of the Willys Gladiator has an interesting hood.

So would you recommend clear coat paint over the E coat, or fully painting them? E coat doesn't seem to hold up long term.

Yes, and the bumper styling is different, I had a rear-end collision before and damaged my blind spot sensors and fog light wiring harness, then I realized that the Chinese version is different from the version in other regions.
Also, China requires all cars to have a front license plate, and the Chinese license plate is more elongated, which I guess also leads to the difference in bumper styling.
The Wrangler and Gladiator sold in China seem to have sensors integrated into the bumper, which also explains why many of the fake 10th anniversary steel bumpers on ebay have a lot of holes in them.

If you want to install it right away, then buy matte black (which is what most people choose). If you have the ability to DIY the color for it, then e-coating is more suitable for you.
Yes, E-coating itself is not durable enough, especially not scratch-resistant. I'm not sure how much you know about coatings, but I think other members may have similar questions, so I will explain the difference between the two.
E-coating is the previous step of matte black spraying, which is used to prevent steel tubes from rusting. The reason we sell this option is that some members want body-colored tube doors, but we don't have the ability to produce them for various body colors at present. I know some brands will sell bare steel, but I want to go a step further and do the E-coating treatment for customers first, so that customers can paint it directly after receiving it, and they can also ensure that these doors are rust-proof.
Matte black paint is to spray it with matte black powder after E-coating, and then bake it at high temperature, and finally form a beautiful and low-key black, which is also the surface treatment process chosen for most metal accessories such as bumpers or side bars you can buy.
Another process is textured black paint, which is also very common. They look more detailed (and can better cover welding defects), but from my experience this surface is actually more easily damaged, because it is like a layer of brittle skin attached to the steel pipe. Once damaged, they will peel off as a whole piece, so we did not choose this surface treatment process.

We use foam glue to stick to the tiny welding slag in the steel pipe that cannot be removed, so as to prevent them from clanking when shaking.
But you may find foam glue overflowing from the rivets after opening the package, because we did not wait for it to overflow completely after spraying the foam glue before sealing the box.
As a result, even if we have wiped it as clean as possible when packing, they still continue to overflow in the box.
Please don't worry, this will not affect the use, just wipe them off with a wet rag.
The subsequent tube door will be left to stand for a while after the foam glue is applied before sealing the box.

We put two 10mm & 13mm wrenches in each tool kit. If you don't know how they work, you can refer to this photo. The reason why we put two wrenches is that you can tighten the bumpstop in this way.

Our Pu armrest have these tiny textures on the surface, which make Pu look more detailed. Adding these textures also helps to avoid holes in the surface during production.

I would think if one’s having trouble with kids in an open door setting maybe it’s best to leave the doors back on? So there goes that argument.

Yeah half doors are way too expensive unfortunately. I’d go with the cloth material half doors though. The tube doors just look so silly to me but I must be in the minority. Again no offense to fans of them I’m trying to see the appeal. They’re in the angry eyes category IMO. Well maybe not that bad.
I have both Cloth (Best Top) with uppers and lowers and Tube, Cloth doors are way more expensive, the fabric also can be a bit noise at hiway speeds,

These Exceed doors being promoted here are pretty average which is fine, quality looks very good the Tube design will help keep bodies in however not body parts, pets or stuff. ALso The one tube row that is bowed will make them hard to store and stack. I can fit either of my sets of doors in the bed of my Wrangler which is a major plus for us as we pull our Wrangler behind our mortorhome and I like to put on the half doors when camping.

Wow, it seems that you have unlocked all the forms of the Wrangler, great!
You are right, the tube expansion will bring extra space for the knees, but it will also bring some difficulties when storing. And these outward-bent steel tubes also increase the size of the package, thereby increasing our logistics costs
But it seems that your cloth door and tube door do not have rearview mirrors, will this not affect driving?
