The issue is the tires. KO2's ... the stock tire ... are only rated for 97 miles per hour.
It's right there on the side of the tire "Do not exceed 97 mph"

The 392's are also speed limited to 97mph as well.
That's interesting....Someone will find a way around that when they start shipping.

Mine is limited to 97 also. Not a pleasant speed to be at in a 2 door with MT tires. By contrast, my ā€˜88 YJ would only do 80 with my foot to the floor with a 4.2 carbed six and a 3 speed auto. That was with no electronic meddling.
So jealous. My YJ with the old Iron Duke flirted with 70 a few times, downhill..... No limiter needed.

Canā€™t say Iā€™ve hit 95 MPH in this Jeep even once.

All I know is when any of my JKs hit 90 MPH...Iā€™d shit my pants!
After I got my lift and 37s, I was curious. Hadn't done speedo yet...and it was fairly comfortable at 92 on speedo, which would be over 100. Not a normal thing, and I didn't plan to get that fast...and it was gulping gas.

95? Think the highest I have hit in my Jeep is 80 on the Highway. Rather not exceed that as the Jeep seems to be out of it's comfort zone to me beyond 75 or 77 MPH.

Very true! All Jeepā€™s are electronically limited based on the factory installed tires. Rubiconā€™s are 97mph and I think the sport and Sahara are limited at 110mph

I've seen a Jeep JL hit 100 mph for whatever that's worth. I can't say if or why yours has a max mph of 97......

The build sheet on my 21 JLUS says "110mph Vehicle Max Speed Calibration". Haven't got the Jeep yet as it is still in shipping status so I can't be sure what the tires say.

It does state this about the tires; "255/70R18 All Terrain Tires", "Bridgestone Brand Tires"

Looking up the Bridgestone All Terrain tire online the speed rating is 118 MPH. So 110 Max makes sense.

Looked up the Rubicon tires and they have a speed rating of 100 mph.

97 mph Vehicle Max Speed Calibration - This appeared on my build sheet. Not wanting to start a "you shouldn't go that fast in a wrangler" type discussion...am I correct in assuming that this vehicle is electronically governed to a max of 97 mph? This is my second factory ordered Rubicon and I dont recall this on my JK......
Im not going to say i know this is not the case but........ atleast on my 2018 this is not the case

Do like I did with my minibike as a kid and pop that governor off! Don't let the man keep you down!
I did the same with my minibike. Went like hell for a few hours, and then threw a rod.
