So jealous. My YJ with the old Iron Duke flirted with 70 a few times, downhill..... No limiter needed.Mine is limited to 97 also. Not a pleasant speed to be at in a 2 door with MT tires. By contrast, my ā88 YJ would only do 80 with my foot to the floor with a 4.2 carbed six and a 3 speed auto. That was with no electronic meddling.
After I got my lift and 37s, I was curious. Hadn't done speedo yet...and it was fairly comfortable at 92 on speedo, which would be over 100. Not a normal thing, and I didn't plan to get that fast...and it was gulping gas.Canāt say Iāve hit 95 MPH in this Jeep even once.
All I know is when any of my JKs hit 90 MPH...Iād shit my pants!
95? Think the highest I have hit in my Jeep is 80 on the Highway. Rather not exceed that as the Jeep seems to be out of it's comfort zone to me beyond 75 or 77 MPH.Canāt say Iāve hit 95 MPH in this Jeep even once.

Im not going to say i know this is not the case but........ atleast on my 2018 this is not the case97 mph Vehicle Max Speed Calibration - This appeared on my build sheet. Not wanting to start a "you shouldn't go that fast in a wrangler" type discussion...am I correct in assuming that this vehicle is electronically governed to a max of 97 mph? This is my second factory ordered Rubicon and I dont recall this on my JK......
which makes even more sense to spend over $30K extra on the HemiThe 392's are also speed limited to 97mph as well.
That thing will also be derated in 4WD, Dana 44 axles can't handle V8 power and Jeep knows it.which makes even more sense to spend over $30K extra on the Hemi
I did the same with my minibike. Went like hell for a few hours, and then threw a rod.Do like I did with my minibike as a kid and pop that governor off! Don't let the man keep you down!
