Santa Fe or Taos??

My family and I are stopping off in NM after the upcoming Ouray Jeep Jamboree. We wanted to spend one day and night in NM. I'm looking for recommendations whether to stay in Santa Fe or Taos. We will be staying in a hotel.

Not that I have much experience exploring either city, I would choose Santa Fe, just for the fact that you will have more choices for restaurants. Not sure what kind of activities your family is into, so I would just google things to do in each city. If I chose Taos, I might check out the Taos Pueblo and if I chose Santa Fe, I might check out Meow Wolf.

Taos is a cool place to check out, and if it's only for one night it really doesn't matter as much if there's less choices for food and lodging. Although I'd imagine if your budget is more on the tight side Santa Fe would get the nod.

But if it were me for only 1 night I'd go w/ Taos, although it is a bit more out of the way so will add a bit more time to your trip.

FWIW, in Durango now, just ran Ophir & Imogene, and going to Engineer & Poughkeepsie tomorrow. Have a blast at the Jamboree, should be a crazy good time, although I'm glad we're going to be gone by then, trails right now are perfect, not much traffic to deal with and the weather has been sublime!

....oh. I guess I’m the only one who came to this thread expecting a spirited debate about which mid-sized crossover to get as a second car or a significant other’s car.

FWIW, the answer is Taos if you plan to keep it only within warranty. Outside of warranty, Santa Fe.

lol, we just bought a Taos SE, hopefully it will be a joy, starting out well so there's that Already blacked out as much chrome as I could
