Hey guys,

my experience so far, In a ATV and RZR I've done;

Taylor Park, Alpine Loop, Moab,

In a Jeep rental (sport on 33's) I've done;

Alpine loop..

I have a completely stock Rubicon XR, no winch yet, but I have 2 come alongs and some rope. (bumper is on backorder)

Any advise for Sand Hollow?

Been there twice. My advise is to not go there.....
in summer months.
have fun,
Going in two weeks ... If I can do a RZR in Moab in summer with no roof, I think I can handle the heat / cold

I guess the main thing I was wondering is, are there enough trails to do that are fairly easy? Maybe harder than "trails for pussy's" but easier than what lite brite does ?

Sand Hollow has just about everything from mild to WTF. Here is the event I try to get to every year. There is a good list of trails and what to expect on them. I've gone up to a rated 6 trail with a few rated 7 obstacles. Any more than that and you can expect damage. You can go from a dirt road, to rock crawling, to running dunes all within 1000 yards of each other. Take a look at the trails below. This year we ran Fault Line, my wife drove. In the past we ran Bzzackwards, Wayne's World, and West Rim. (which is Bzzackwards, forwards.)

Spot on, look up Matts off road recovery on YouTube, put his number in contacts and go for it. In Dirty Harry's famous words: "A man's GOT to know his limitations."

I was thinking 15psi or so, I don't have beadlocks. ..

Does anyone think I "NEED" MAXTRAX ? Or will I be ok just airing down?

How easy is it to get stuck and dig? I've never ever ridden ANY dunes before ..

I agree with the sentiments above there is something for everyone there. My first trip there i was on 2.5" and 35's I did ledges and Fawlty towers. If you are going to tackle something more difficult just make sure you have someone with you.

Also on my first trip I got stuck in the sand twice... with out a winch I'm sure will make it more difficult getting out.. once I got stuck I just had fun burning my self even more :CWL: but again it goes to my above statement having a buddy with you so if you get in this situations you are able to get out

Full disclosure my first trip I might have done that a couple times lol

I'm breaking the number one rule, and going by myself... and the number two rule, won't have a winch.

I'm following the number 3 rule, keeping Matt's recovery on my speed dial .. ..

Maybe I'll either skip the dunes or follow someone else if I make any new friends out there. .

Max Trax seem to be back ordered a month or more.. I'm leaving in 11 days.

I ordered a generic brand of MAXTRAX .. I got the Bunker Indust ones.. hope there decent..

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CX8DV8R?psc=1&smid=AFZBLIQB6RD6E&ref_=chk_typ_imgToDp

I also ordered a folding shovel .. Hopefully that holds me over..

Now the search for a 2-3 person tent, and sleeping bag .. I have reservations at the resort, but want to bring gear to spend the night on the trail, incase we break down, or don't want to turn around.. Maybe I'll get a wild hair and make a break for the North Rim of the grand canyon ?

Any other suggestions for preparing for the trip on short notice ?

If you have the factory steel bumper there is probably an unused hole on the right side that a flag could be mounted to.
