What trail did you run with the watering hole? Looks like a good spot to let the kids walk around and cool off. Also where would you get the permit for Hill?
I responded on the other thread about the watering hole, it's over by Sand Hollow. @rustyshakelford could give info on Elephant Hill permit.

Just got back last night. We ran Black Bear and Poughkeepsie, among many others. The work party on 7-18-2020 was a great success, we had a nice chat with the Forest Service and number of the folks who participated in the work party. We rolled up to "the wall" just as the work party group was breaking up and heading back North to open the gate from that end Saturday afternoon (we entered from the South at Como Lake). Played around a bit there and just turned around and headed back up/over Hurricane and Corkscrew. Awesome week in the San Juans!!!

Northern entrance to Poughkeepsie, which was still closed Saturday morning so we continued on Mineral Springs up and around to Animas Forks, and then took California Gulch up to Como Lake and entered Poughkeepsie from that side. We ran into the Forest Service guy just outside Animas Forks and he gave us the heads up that he was headed to open Northern gate, so we followed him in

Washed, loaded up, and ready to hit the road tomorrow. Packing for 5 has been interesting. Including tools and clothing for two completely different climates plus local beverages/ bbq meat.

Regarding the two climates... We found that even though Ouray was cooler we simply threw on a long sleeve t-shirt and were fine. i.e. We weren't wearing jeans and a winter jacket in Ouray and tank tops in Moab :)

Hit the road after lunch time today. Made the trek from South Texas to Kerrville (30 minutes west of San Antonio). Took a nice easy cruise at 75-85. Tomorrow Roswell. Adorned my friends JK with a new sticker. Took him 180 miles before realizing it was back there.
