So I’ve got an ‘18 Sahara that I’m doing my best to turn into a Moab clone…added a European Rubicon hood, a rubicon steel front bumper, & MOPAR LED headlights and tail lights, next I’d like to swap the Sahara wheels for the matte black Rubicon wheels that came on the Moab, but my understanding is that my Sahara has 18” rims & P255/70R18’s while the Rubicon rims and tires I can get are 17” rims & LT255/75R17’s. By the way, all parts are genuine MOPAR Parts. And one more addl. thing, I’ve got a set of Rubicon fender flares that I’m going to be installing as well…don’t necessarily need or want the clearance, just like the look.
So back to the rims and tires…can I do a direct swap, or will that cause issues.
Right now it’s got the stock ‘18 Sahara suspension, and for reasons that would take too long to explain, I’d like to keep the “lift” the same…basically boils down to my wife’s ability and comfort getting into and out of the Jeep.
So I guess what I’m wondering is will the stock Rubicon 17” rims & LT255/75R17’s be the same basic diameter as my 18” rims & P255/70R18’s, or if not what tire size should I go with on the Rubicon 17” rims?
Another question I have is what is the difference in “lift” between a stock Sahara and a stock Rubicon? I’ve seen numerous people on FB marketplace selling stock Rubicon suspension components after they’ve bought a MOPAR lift kit to raise their Rubicon, and am wondering what installing one of those would do To my stock Sahara?

Just ask @cosine he knows!
You'll be fine running the 17" wheels & tires on your Sahara, tire diameter and width is almost the same and the offset is the same on the wheels as well as the wheel width. 17s also have better tire choices, and a bit more sidewall, and 17 tires are also typically cheaper as well, so all pros and no cons IMO.
