there is a difference os 17 lbs
41 lbs the stock
58 your tire

32 in hight the stock
32.5 your tire

I am going to get this same tire for my future sahara JLU Granite from day 2
I was going to get the Mud terrain 285/70/R18 but there are higher 33.7 and 62 lbs
with your pics I desided to but the ALL TERRAIN

Thank You !

This is what I suspected. The "E" rated tires are heavier and will def have an effect on gas mileage. They look great however.

We put BF Goodrich All terrain KO2s in 285/65/18. Really happy with them.
Did you have any problem with the spare tire with the 285 65 r18

Definitely more road feel, and it feels more planted on the road. My also wife likes how it drives now much better. It’s great on sand as well.

by the way I am getting the 7 spoke option Rim for my sahara
I also have the 7 spoke rims ordered for my Sahara Sting Grey. I don't like the tires that come with it and am trying for a more Rubicon look, but the Sahara ride. Not sure what tires to get and maybe I will add a 2" lift at some point.

Revmarc, looks great. Did you notice a hit to your MPG or power going up to 285/65r18? When I went to 315's on my JKU, it had a huge hit on MPG. Although, I will not be going to that size on my JLU, just want to prepare for the inevitable. Thanks!

Thanks! We’re getting what we got before the tire swap around town, maybe 1 mpg less on the highway. Still averaging 2 mpg better than our 2016 auto Oscar Mike. I can’t say enough good things about these tires—very happy with them.

We were running spacers So they stuck out some. Without the spacers they would probably be close to flush.

What size spacers did you install? I'm curious - have the same stock rims and looking at either a 285/70 or a 295/70 and wondering if spacers would be required or just nice to have for the wider stance

I'd be careful to mount 285/70R18 tires (33.7 x 11.2 inches) on a stock Sahara with no lift, IF you plan to take it off-road.

I have 275/70R18 KO2s (33.2 x 10.8 inches) on stock Sahara wheels: I get no rubbing 99% of the time. However, last Wednesday I went wheeling and got a tad of rubbing at extreme articulation. 285/70R18 is going to rub on the trail.

Below is a comparison between Sahara's stock tire size and 285/70R18.

This is exactly the kind of info I was hoping to get - thanks @aldo98229 !

So - the rubbing you have - is it due to the lack of a spacer or the need for a lift? I have the RC 2.5" lift coming next week and was going to get that installed before the tires. My concern is will the extra 3/4" of tire on the inside of the wheel rub on anything that isn't moved up with the lift?

In my case it was lack of lift. You should be fine with a 2.5-inch lift.

My understanding is that 285 tires clear with the factory wheels.
