General consensus is the MOPAR 2" lift actually nets around 3.5". I'd like to hear from non-Rubicon owners who only got around 2". Also, I've read where some have said the lift settles over time from the original lift height. Is that mostly the case or exception?

I currently have a RC 2.5/2.0 spring and shock lift. I've never liked the ride as much as I'd hoped and I now want some more height and clearance (I have rubbed on trails). I'm considering MOPAR just for warranty coverage but the uncertainty of the actual height makes me think I should just go with a true 3.5" lift.

I have 315/70/17 KO2.

Get a Rock Krawler or Metalcloak and don't look back.

Thanks. Leaning that direction now. Tired of worrying about warranty BS just to get an inferior product.

Honestly the warranty argument is silly. Find a good dealer to work with and you won't have any issues. I don't understand what people think you're going to break which could be attributed to a lift. Bigger tires are what break parts and driver experience as well.

Part of the reason different people get different height is because of weight. Some people have plastic bumpers, no tow, a soft top, stock wheels, and no sliders. Others have steel bumpers, winch, reinforced tire carrier, heavier wheels, heavy spare tire, rock rails and sliders, skid plates, light bars, roof racks, hard top, and tow package. That's hundreds of pounds of difference in weight.

Makes sense. I have installed the MOPAR steel bumper, Smittybilt winch, JCR bull bar and skid plate, so quite a bit of extra weight on the front. It has sagged the front 3/4" lower than the rear from when I had the current lift installed. I wouldn't be too concerned but most of our trails here require a good amount of clearance and I've already rubbed my fenders on a fairly moderate trail. Live and learn and learn some more.

I love driving it. I bought it already built for anything I want to do offroad and I don’t worry about scratching or beating it up a bit.

What a great looking Jeep! Looks like a lot of fun. One day I am going to do the same thing and get a YJ as a second vehicle just for off-road.

Taking your advice and going to get RK Adventure series. Just need to decide on which shocks to get. Looking at Bilstein 5100, Rancho RS9000, or RK RRD TT.

Thanks! Definitely worth it to me. It is a manual trans, which I hadn’t driven in years. Makes me wish I had gotten a 2-door JL.

I have a manual JLU and I had a manual YJ that I bought new and drove daily for 7 years (showing my age). They are both great manuals but could not be more different.
