A couple of quick questions. How much room is required at the bottom to pull the grill out? I have a winch installed on a DV8 FS-15 bumper and it looks like I only have an inch between the bottom of the grill and the winch. Will the tabs be able to clear within that space and pull out?

The answer is... BARELY! But I got it. I had to fish down to the bottom on the inside and "convince" the lower tabs out of there homes enough to clear.

This is what I ended up with...

I was going to use a Hammered finish paint on the inserts to match the bumper but decided to go with satin black instead.

I’m new here and LOVED the info on this thread.
I’m in the middle of blacking out my wife’s Sahara inserts.
I’ll post pics when I’m finished

I was able to get the grill off and paint but any suggestions on how to get the silver ring around the fog lights off? Or easier to tape around it, in place and paint?

Looks good. I would paint the bezel directly on the bumper. I replaced mine and it wasn't an easy job.

Thanks for sharing... I have no clue how to go about taking if off so I'll looking into painting directly on it.

I would tape and paint. Comes out just as good and avoids removing the bumper.

Great thread with lots of great advice and tips. Will be doing this myself as well. Does anyone know which color red would match up with the red two hooks on the Rubicon steel front bumper?

Funny thing: on the coming European Version of the Sahara , the silver grill is gone... and even more silver in the fog lights
But the EU Sahara is not completely equipped like the US Sahara. But you can get the Overland package, which is basically US Sahara, with silver, but with different "Overland" decals

EU Overland
That is a different hood than the US versions as well no?
