Sahara Body Color Roof/Black Roof

The Sahara standard roof is shows as soft top. Black or Body color show optional. Has this always been the case?

Yes. Unless you get a Sahara Altitude or Moab, which include the body-color hardtop.

Moab was a limited edition Sahara for 2018-19.

Sahara fenders have always been body-colored, and remains that way.

No, the Sahara (regular unlimited, not Altitude or Moab) I ordered last month came standard with a body coloured roof. I had to order the Dual Top (I wanted both anyway) to get the black. Now having said that, it's my understanding that the colour matched hardtop is no longer available... which assumingly means it might be discontinuing the colour. Maybe. We think.

That must be in Canada.

In US, regular Saharas get the softop standard. Hardtop, either black or painted, is optional.

Perhaps FCA Canada figured no one is likely to fold down the top for six months of the year

Sahara come with the Vinyl Soft Top as standard equipment In the US. Premium cloth soft top (black or tan), Black Hard top, Color matched Hard Top and Sky One Touch are all options.

Overseas the Standard for the Sahara (including a 2 door Sahara ) is the color (colour ) matched Hard top.

Aldo refers to colored tops and @Traijloy refers to coloured ones.

(There is no right way to spell color/colour, nor right ethinic color or nationality to be. Best to you both.)

I just hopped over to Jeep.ca and it looks like they don't really differentiate the models as much as those shipped overseas. I'm not sure if the Jeeps that go to Canada are any different except for defaulting to metric readouts.
