This will be a place where I will update the progress made on my 2018 JLUR.

The goal with this Jeep will be to build a rig that serves my everyday needs as a daily driver, but is still built to tackle any trail I want...

Over the years I have had a XJ, TJ, and two JK's and all of them have been fairly extreme builds that were not the best daily drivers... I am taking (hopefully) a different route with this JL. I guess we will see as time goes on if I can mind my business and not go crazy ;)

Stage 1 build will include:

-37s
-No lift
-Longer shocks (probably Falcons) and extended bump stops (if needs be... tbd)
-Bumpers front and rear (brand tbd)
-Sliders
-Company wrap
-Fenders (if needs be)

Cheers!

My new JL just arrived off the truck today!! To say that I’m excited would be an understatement!

I officially take deliver of it tomorrow! I will post more pictures as soon as I get it!

Well I took the Jeep out for a little drive this evening and I can’t tell you how impressed I am with the JL platform... by far the smoothest, best handling Jeep I’ve owned to date. I’m excited to start building this thing. The fit and finish is top notch!

Well Moab 2018 is in the books. it was awesome to go down and see all the new stuff coming out for the JL. While down there I went ahead and ran Hells Revenge and I couldn't be more impressed with this Jeep. The only issues I had were height and break-over related. I got high centered a few times and had to take alternate routes to get around any ledge that was higher than about two feet which is to be expected in a stock jeep :cwl:.

reassessing my build thoughts after running a couple trails. I think I will be installing a 2.5" teraflex lift with 35s for now and see how long I make it before I want to upgrade to 37s :like:.

Oh yeah... and the BA Dodge CarryAll in the pics is my dads. Thing is a BEAST!

I would also like to note that I was an idiot while in Moab and didn't take one picture :headbang:... these pictures were taken the next day in the San Rafael Swell.

Here are a few pics from the weekend....

Hard to tell, were those the factory 33s or did you have 35s on it in Moab?

Well it has been awhile since I last posted and a few things have changed on the JL.

- I installed a set of KMC XD Machete Bead locks, -38 offset, 3.5" backspace with 37" BFG KO2's
- I separated my fenders and installed the Artec fender chop kit and turn signals
- Installed a set of Artec Inner Fenders in the front.

My initial impression of the jeep with 37s, no gears, and no lift couldn't be more positive! The JL handles the 37s with ease. I can't hardly tell a difference. There is zero lag in the steering and the 8 speed tranny handles the 37s no problem. I can't even really tell if there is any power loss. I didn't notice that it will shift down while pulling a canyon at 70MPH, but nothing to complain about. So far I am getting about 16.8 MPG with the bigger tires.

The next thing I will install is the Motobilt front bumper. I can't stand the way this thing looks with the stock front bumper.

Well, I got rid of the ugly ass front bumper! My J4 front and rear bumpers should be here in about a week and a half. Until then I will be bumperless!:like:

So it’s been awhile since I have logged on and a lot has changed on the JL since my last post. My initial build goals have gone out the window (that didn’t take long).

I will do a brief update now with pics and then do a write up on everything thing I have done later.

If you want up to date pics and info check out my IG page @sage8jl

Things I have added since my last post:

- 1.5” Teraflex ST1 lift with Falcon Monotube Shocks from the 2-3” lift (if I remember correctly they are 12” travel shocks). I also installed 2” bump stops front and rear to compensate for the longer shocks (works great)

- Steer smarts Yeti XD Tie Rod
- Falcon Nexus EF 2.2 stabilizer
- BFG 39x13.50R17 KM3’s
- Teraflex Alpline adjustable LCA’s

Your rig is coming along nicely, those new tires look good!

which falcon stabilizer did you use that had tie rod clamps?
It's the Falcon EF2.2 for a JK. It comes with the clamp and trackbar mount all as one unit. They have two clamp sizes... one that fits the stock JK Tie Rod and 1 5/8" options. I used the 1 5/8" option for the Steer Smarts Yeti XD Tie Rod. Worked out really well and lifted the stabilizer up out of harms way.
