I'm planning to add a front bumper and winch to my Sahara 4xE. I'll be running Rubicon KO2 takeoffs, eventually. The bumper I'm looking at is around 80lbs, and the winch is 67 lbs. I've heard the 4XE has upgraded springs, to deal with the battery weight. So...

Any guesses as to what kind of sag I'll be dealing with, and whether I'll need or want spacers? I'd love to avoid it if I can, just one less thing to deal with.

Personally I think all Wranglers look better leveled even before adding weight to the front. If I weren't going to lift my jeep (good luck with that), I'd run a 3/4" spacer up front. You'll probably only sag 1/4"-1/2" from the winch/ bumper combo so it's up to you how leveled you want the jeep to look.

Someone said last week to put the same weight on the current bumper that would be the net increase and then measure the sag. I thought it was a great idea.

Any idea how much weight I’ll be losing by removing the current plastic Sahara 4xe bumper?

I’ve heard 35 lbs for the whole thing. At least that’s what I’m planning on until I hear a better number. I think it makes a difference if it’s a Rubicon or not.

Sounds about right. Shouldn't be any real weight difference between the trims. Negligible at best.

After I installed my Badlands Apex 12k and Grimm off road winch plate, on the factory steel bumper, it looked like I didn't lose much of any, but after a trip to Moab it settled about half an inch. I put on a Teraflex 1/2 inch front spacer to get it back to where it was originally. This is on a 21 Rubicon 4xe.

I think the suspension is different on a Sahara 4xe and a rubi 4xe…? Maybe?

The suspension on the Rubicon generally sits 1" taller, but the spring rates are similar enough it should be relatable. I'd guesstimate you'll want a .5-.75" spacer unless you prefer more rake than factory. It isn't necessary, people run winches and the slight sag for years. It's purely cosmetic preferences.

I just installed the apex badlands 12k with rockhard winch plate on my steel bumper. Sags .75” in the front now… rough country .75” front coil spacer on order now
