From the pictures, it looks very fixable to me. Relatively minor body damage, a few bolt on parts, the frame doesn't look affected, replace the front suspension, and 2 wheels/tires. Also a bent frame does not total out a new wrangler. With your Jeep being new, they can do a lot awful lot of work to fix a $60k Jeep.

Quickest way to tell if there is frame damage, which there is likely not in this case, especially on a new vehicle, is to look for a crack, wrinkle, bubble, major chip in the frame paint. If the steel moved, again which it likely hasn't, it will show in the paint.
Other than that, a few bolt on parts, a new rim and tire, and you're good to go. Maybe $5k damage tops. No insurance company is going to look at that little damage and write it off ... unless they see where they can make a profit off it.
Also, the cost of a rental will not be calculated into the equation. For one thing it's in a different cost sector for which you pay separately, and for another, read your policy carefully, there's usually a finite amount of time they will keep you in a rental.
There are a number of other factors that need to be considered as well, like what state did the accident occur in? Who's fault was the accident? Who is the trucking company's insurer? These questions and more go into the evaluation of whether or not to write off a vehicle.

Just got the estimate from Geico… not sure whether to be happy or not?

Not good news if you wanted a new Jeep. The rear bumper on my wife's XC60 got lightly dinged by a teenager and she received a check for half that. I'd be really impressed if a shop could resuscitate your Jeep to like-new for that amount. Good luck, and keep us posted.

Welp… week and a half old, 1,000 miles on it. Jeeps and Trailers do not mix well together! Everyone was okay from the accident. Not sure if it’s totaled or not, insurance is currently dealing with it and yes it is my first accident. If it’s totaled I’ll order a new one and If it’s going to be repaired I’ll probably just trade it in and order another new one? Thoughts, comments, concerns?

Yeah I’m concerned on how low the estimate is, but regardless of how well they fix it, I’m probably going to order a new jeep

Don't be. My wife used to work in claims before switching to underwriting.

The initial estimates are always lower than the actual cost of the repair. Once you take it to your shop of choice, the shop will then send a much more detailed breakdown of what's needed in order to repair it and the cost associated with it.

The insurance company will either agree to pay it or will attempt to negotiate a slightly better price and will then send payment to the shop. This is called a supplement.

Your Jeep will be fixed and the shop will be payed the proper cost of repairs, which will definitely be higher than $5k.

One thing to note, at the end make sure you get compensated for diminished value. Most companies use whats called a 17c calculator. look it up and be realistic about the damage multiplier, it should give you a decent idea of what to expect.

Dang, really? Seems pretty fixable and you're going to lose your ass selling this one with recent accident history and paying a premium for a new one given the current automotive market.

Well no doubt it’s fixable as long as there doesn’t appear to have frame damage.. but it’s a brand new jeep with 1,000 miles and the trade in market is hot rn, I’m sure I can still get decent $$ for it via trade in. I’d rather get a new jeep now and take a small hit rather than trade it in 3 years from now for another one and take a bigger hit… I trade Jeeps in every 3 years anyways for a new one so… plus I’m still going to buy one for under MSRP so there isn’t a huge premium I will be paying

pics of what 28k of damage looks like? I'm thinking like capt america rollover at potato salad hill.
That’s what you would think but surprisingly it doesn’t look that bad. There is no body damage beside passenger side fender, all doors are flush and open and close as normal. Heck, even the sky one-touch tracks perfectly open and close.

I’m thinking the same thing. I placed an order yesterday I see no reason to wait for the bean counters to make up their minds.
