Sad Day, Jeep Accident, Advice?

Welp… week and a half old, 1,000 miles on it. Jeeps and Trailers do not mix well together! Everyone was okay from the accident. Not sure if it’s totaled or not, insurance is currently dealing with it and yes it is my first accident. If it’s totaled I’ll order a new one and If it’s going to be repaired I’ll probably just trade it in and order another new one? Thoughts, comments, concerns?

Man that suck Holmes. I’d be so bummed, in fact I’m bummed for you. I would be concerned if they try to fix it. Heard too many times of vehicles that got fixed then had nonstop problems.

I remember you - you and your sister both ordered Jeeps together and this is the one that was way delayed, right? Too bad - really sucks you waited this long and this is what happened. There is bad JuJu with that JLJL. I'd start over with a new one, tho that one looked great.

I ordered the same white rubicon that I am currently waiting for.
See if it can be repaired.
If it does not drive right than just get rid of it.

Yeah, super bummed… and yes my thought process was to have it get fixed if not totaled and trade it in on the high market right now and start all over again because once a Jeep has been in a accident(bigger accident) it never is the same

Yes that was me haha, and yeah this sucks I was 9 hours in my 10 hour trip moving down from NY to NC…. Also the Jeep’s AC was broken 3 days after I picked it up, so yes bad JuJu. Thanks tho, Jeeps can be replaced, people can’t

Sorry to see that,

I don't see frame involvement, the front axle and suspension need attention, but that's easy. Looks like no airbag deployment, minimal body damage, no crush. A good body shop/collision center should be able to fix it back to good as new easy enough. The kicker here is how long will replacement parts be to source and how long will you be in a rental. If it will take months to fix, and they have to rent you something the whole time, they may want to total it.

Go ahead and order a new one so you will be ahead of the game. Then it will be on the way if it gets totaled, or you decide to trade it if the repair isn't satisfactory.

Look up diminished value and make that part of your claim if it's the other driver's fault.

As @The Last Cowboy mentioned…it doesn’t appear that the frame was involved. Find a reputable frame specialist in your area and they can certainly find out if the frame has been misaligned. Even if the frame has been misaligned I bet you’re only talking $600 to straighten it.

I’d personally go ahead and get it fixed. Looks worse than it actually is I believe. Maybe a good time to do some upgrades?

Sorry man I know the feeling. I totaled my 4 month old Mercedes in March. Been waiting for a Jeep since then. I hope it gets resolved. Keep us posted. It’s a crappy feeling but the more time passes and insurance gets things resolved, you’ll feel better and forget about this chapter. Better days ahead.

Haha sure you can say that. Just a stupid moment and lapse in judgment. Top three dumbest things I’ve done in the last 10 years for sure.

Yeap... I definitely wouldn't want it anymore no matter how well they fixed it. I'm actually in need of a passenger side front door if you can somehow sell it I'd take it off your hands.
