Rusty's winch plate with Badlands Apex - not quite fitting

I purchased the Rusty's winch place since I had seen other threads where it worked with the Rock Jock Tow Plate. I've also seen others that have installed the Apex 12K winch. I ordered direct through Rusty's and the plate I received is the newer angled one. Very tight fit and had to drill out the plates front bolt holes to match the frame bolt holes. Only as I was finally putting the bumper on, I found that the clutch handle will not rotate, it comes in contact with the bumper about halfway through the turn. Any suggestions? Can the handle be replaced with something smaller?
