Hello!

Has anyone mounted Rusty's JL Wrangler 2.0L engine skid on a 2 door? If it matters, a 2021 JL to be specific.

I don't do heavy off-roading, but want some protection incase I come across a random rock that wants to make friends with the oil pan. Or when your friend leading the group in their 4-inch lifted, 38" tire having, trailer queen rig says, "Just follow me, you'll be fine!" :)

I saw the M.O.R.E. skid for 2dr, but after reading the directions that started with "loosen the engine mount bolts and drive them rearward with a mallet", I had second thoughts.

Metalcloak seems to be the ticket, but with a price to match. I know they make awesome stuff, wish I could get just the engine skid separate.

Thanks!

See this thread. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/2-0-engine-skid-plates.49229/

FWIW: The M.O.R.E. brackets weren't that difficult to install. I didn't actually read the instructions (for the brackets) and didn't end up loosening any of the factory motor mounts. They were a tight fit and do bolt to the bottom of the OEM motor mounts... so maybe M.O.R.E.'s wording is a little misleading.

I installed Rusty's 2.0 engine/transmission skid plate on my 2 door JL. It touches the gas tank skid plate, but if you tighten each bolt a little at a time, the skid plate settles in and even adds support to the gas tank skid where it lost some when the factory skid was removed. It's very well made, and I'm very happy with it.
