I installed them back in January, and made a couple mistakes, because the instructions were not provided. The relay needed to be covered by provided heat shrink, and dielectric grease needed to be used where the wires go into the DRL body. Lesson learned, lets hope they hold up better this time.

Bonus points, to help the front flares stay tight onto the body...trust me, world of difference!

I agree that wheel well liners are needed, they made a world of difference.

Cutting the plastic wheel liners is silly, looks horrible.

Wheel well liners and then break off the two fender flare supports since they're not needed.

Great info and your blog is entertaining! So just to confirmed, you used the AAL hardware to tighten up the flares to the body? No more play in the back towards the vent?

Thanks, and correct, AAL’s nutserts and 3D printed plates hold the front flares to the fender much firmer than OEM plastic clips.

Rugged Ridge’s parent company was very open to the feedback, I assured them that fixing the few design issues could make their fender flares a strong contender in the JL space.

Just installed mine. Did anyone noticed how loud the relays are?
When I installed the first set I didn’t get any instructions so I never covered the relays with the provided heat shrink. The relays were exposed, so they were loud and eventually corroded.

They sent me a complete replacement set of bumpers and this time it came with instructions. The relays have the heat shrink around it, so now I can’t hear them, and no concerns about corrosion.

So I’m having an issue getting the DRLs to be on. Any advice here?

If the Turn signal (yellow) and white light working, it should be a setting from your radio to enable DRL
You can also set it using Tazer if you have it.

otherwise check your wiring

Yes I’m an idiot I forgot to change the settings with my tazer. It’s all set now. Thanks

Anyone that has installed these and look at the wiring diagram / instructions? It mentions configurations for:
1. Factory equipped LED package
2. Halogen
3. Factory equipped LED without switchback

Any idea what the difference between Factory LED and Factory LED without switchback? Or what switchback they are talking about?

I have factory LED, but no idea what the switch back is and it doesnt tell how to determine. Any ideas?

I bought them a couple years ago. After trying and failing to get the lights to work properly, I emailed Rugged Ridge directly. Then sent me wiring instructions, and admitted their product was imported with poor wiring instructions. Have a look:

Based on my experience, including getting a second set sent to me after I complained, I could never recommend it to anyone.
