Rugged Ridge HD Tire Carrier Issue

I just installed my Spartacus tire carrier on the JL but I am running into a couple issues.

1. The gate feels lower on the left, as when it closes there is a noise which I presume is the latch having to come up a little to catch.

2. The right side of the gate where it meets the body is extremely tight.

Can anyone help me out here?

I did. Ended up going with a tire carrier/bumper combo.
