Not going to add the hydro assist yet, there is already a stage 2 plan.. .lol.. that will include the hydro assist, long arms and some other goodies...

Love the white.
If you're doing all this, why did you get a Rubicon? Not trying to be a jerk, just wondering why so many start with a Rubicon to completely rebuild right away. Wouldn't it be cheaper to start with a sport/sport s?
I bought the Rubicon just because of the money you can get from selling axles.. plus I wanted the lower range of the transfer case, and the electric sway bar disconnects. After pricing out a sport or Sahara with all the features I wanted, the price difference wasn't that much..

With this level of offroad build, why 20" wheels instead of 17"?
What backspacing?

Why 4.88 gears instead of 5.38?

Looking forward to seeing it done.

I went with 20" wheel just because of the looks and with the large calipers on the UD 60's I've ran into clearance issues on a 17" rim, unless I ran some deep backspacing. These methods are 4.5 backspacing.

I went with 4:88's because of the new 8 speed trans you don't need as much gearing, I drove and rode in both 4:88 and 5:38 jeeps with 40's and the 4:88's seemed to have the better all around feel.

Interesting that you preferred the 4.88s. Unfortunately, I won't have the opportunity to compare before pulling the trigger on a set of UD60s,

Same with backspacing. Though I'm looking at 40s as well, but I'll be using 8.5" wheels. Most seem to recommend 3.5" BS, but I don't want my wheels to stick out as far, so I'm leaning toward 4" BS. Some I've spoken with say that 4.5 may work, but rubbing is more likely (obviously some is expected under extreme flexing).

here is a before and after, I am having to go up to a 4.5" spring, the 3.5" lift is just to much trimming to make work.. Falcon shocks ride great, and love the 20 method wheels with 40" maxxis razr tires.
